A new tailor-made format for the 2018 edition of Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, with the aim of facilitating networking and business opportunities for companies, retailers and professional operators attending the event, and fulfilling the specific needs of each sector. This is the main novelty that Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna is proposing for the next edition, with a diversification of opening days for each sector: from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 March for all those working in the retail channel, for perfumery and cosmetics, green beauty and international pavilions, in conjunction with Cosmopack; from Friday 16 to Monday 19 March for beauty professionals in hair, nail and aesthetics & spa segments, with the country pavilions of China and Taiwan.

COSMO|PERFUMERY & COSMETICS – from Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 March 2018

A specific trade show dedicated to buyers, distributors and companies interested in what’s new for perfumery and cosmetics: this is COSMO | Perfumery & Cosmetics. From Thursday 15 to Sunday 18 March, companies specialized in cosmetics and personal care sectors, green beauty and international pavilions will have the opportunity to get in touch with professionals of the supply chain, thanks to the conjunction with Cosmopack, the event dedicated to the excellence of the beauty industry. Thanks to the International Buyer Program, a consolidated initiative of the Cosmoprof network, top buyers, distributors and the most important international retailers will have the opportunity to discover the latest news and to select the most suitable proposals for their channel.

Inside Hall 19 and with a selected entrance, Cosmoprime is the ideal stage for new trends in prestige and masstige perfumery for the retail channel. More than 150 companies are expected in March, mainly coming from abroad. Among the initiatives of Cosmoprime, the Extraordinary Gallery, the exclusive showcase for prestige perfumery companies, with products of the highest quality, expression of the best research and development in innovation for the sector, where to discover the latest trends. 50 companies from all over the world will bring to Bologna the most sought-after raw materials, the most luxurious packaging and the most innovative formulations for specific skin needs.

The world of green and natural cosmetics continues to grow, thanks to the attention paid by consumers on raw materials, the eco-sustainability of the production process and the impact of cosmetics ingredients on the immune defenses of the skin.

In Cosmoprime, in Hall 19, two new projects will be dedicated to the world of green cosmetics. Extraordinary Gallery – The Green Selection will host “indie beauty” brands following the growing demand for natural and eco-sustainable products. The exhibiting companies, coming from all over the world, will present products lines characterized by ingredients of natural origin of the highest quality, from skincare to serums, from hair care to nail, specific for men and women. The brands attending the show in Bologna promote a new, more responsible approach to the world of cosmetics, following the steady growth of customers looking for eco-sustainable products without synthetic ingredients, according to the principles of “slow cosmetics” which are spreading all over the world.

In Hall 19 the Green Prime area will be set up as well, with masstige and prestige brands with a strong eco-friendly vocation, particularly linked to the characteristics of retail distribution.

Tones of Beauty focuses on multi-cultural beauty, with products conceived for non-Caucasian customers with specific hair and skin needs. The segment is constantly growing, with an international appeal and an increase in research of new formulas suitable for individual needs.

In the Green area in Hall 21N, with over 130 companies, spotlights on products with natural and organic ingredients and components, specific for face, body and hair, make-up, collections for men and children, herbal and homeopathic products, home fragrances, perfumes, sunscreens and infusions.

Fragrances, make-up, accessories, skin care, toiletries for women and men will occupy the pavilions 22 and 26 dedicated to the Perfumery and Cosmetics sector. Over 250 companies are exhibiting, coming from the main international markets, which will present their latest collections, suitable for distribution in Italy and in Europe.

Thanks to the relationships established by the Cosmoprof network with trade associations and chambers of commerce from all over the world, the number of international pavilions is increasing. In 2018 Cosmoprof is hosting new small and medium-sized international markets which have a unique opportunity for visibility and networking with the over 250,000 professionals from 150 countries gathering every year at Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna. Among the countries attending the 2018 edition from 15 to 18 March, Belgium, Brazil, Korea, United Arab Emirates, France, Germany, Japan, Great Britain, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Poland, Spain, United States and, for the first time, the hall representing Sweden. From March 16th to 19th, in conjunction with Cosmo | Hair & Nail & Beauty Salon dedicated to the professional world, China and Taiwan pavilions will open their doors.

Cosmoprime will also host the Cosmopack Factory, which for 2018 will present Powderful, the project for the production of an all-over palette, from the concept and design of the product to the production process and the in-store shopping experience, specifically thought for the retail channel, with new technologies linked to virtual reality and in-store solutions.


Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna is the most important hub in the world for trends and innovation in the beauty industry. To reward the most innovative products, Cosmoprof Awards, the initiative that involves companies from all sectors exhibiting in Bologna, in collaboration with the international trend agency Beautystreams.

The educational sessions of Cosmotalks, organized during Cosmoprof Worldwide Bologna, will see the participation of international experts, companies, trend agencies, trade magazines and opinion leaders.

Special attention will be paid on the perfumery sector, with the round-tables organized in collaboration with the Italian magazines How To Spend It / Sole 24 Ore and Pambianco Beauty, which will focus on how the sector is evolving for what concerns both customer experience and companies’ perspective. The management and the decision makers of the international leading companies, perfume stores and retailers will participate in the panel discussions.

Within the educational program, specific sessions will be dedicated to strategic issues for the sector: the evolution of the luxury market, analyzed by EY; the concept of skincare in the world, presented by Beautystreams; the retail of the future, according to the magazine Allure; an update on the green sector, with the participation of Ecovia; further to this, market analysis and talks dedicated to specific trends.
